What I liked about Olaf was his fantastic sense of humor. It was so
infectious; you couldn't stay
sad around him. I used to call him Olav (with a 'v') until he corrected me saying its Olaf.....O laugh. That's the Olaf who lived life to the fullest. Rest in peace.

Fortunate enough to have known dear Olaf for a little over a year through my partner, his grandson Kalvin. In that short time, he brought an insurmountable level of joy to each occasion I met with him at, and we always left with new jokes of his afterwards. Throughout his time in hospital, where he was visited daily by family members, he remained a trooper and despite everything, was still making jokes and asking about the welfare of the others until the end. The last thing I heard him say was an “I love you” to his grandsons. I’ll miss you, Olaf. Thank you for being you. <3
